GAP is open to contributors.
You don’t need to be “established.”
You don’t need to be prolific.
You don’t need to have the right opinions.
If you have a thoughtful relationship to improv - as a performer, teacher, student, producer, or audience member - we’re interested.
What we’re looking for
- Reflections on improv practice or pedagogy
- Essays or think-pieces about the craft
- Reviews of shows or festivals
- Interviews or conversations with improvisers
- Notes-in-progress, provocations, or questions
- Transcripts of talks, workshops, or podcasts
- Anything that treats improvisation seriously without taking itself too seriously
Australian-focused is great. Not mandatory.
What this is not
- Promotional copy or press releases
- “Here’s why my team/show/class is the best”
- Generic self-help content with improv buzzwords
How it works
- Submit a short pitch using this form
(a paragraph is plenty - drafts are welcome but not required) - If it feels like a good fit, we’ll invite you as a contributor
- You’ll be able to write and edit your piece directly in the site
- Light editorial guidance if needed, then we publish
This is meant to be low-pressure, collegial, and respectful of your time.
If you’ve ever thought “someone should write about this”, you can.
